"Whenever I get tired, and ask myself –"Is this worth it?" I go to the guest book and read love letters to Casa Simpatico, since 1999.
Thanks folks!!"

"Colorado If you are ready to escape the intensity and craziness of Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta Casa Simpatico is for you. Here you will be closer to the Mexican community. You can walk along the beach to Miramar and buy fresh seafood at the fisherman's Co-op, purchase vegetables at the municipal market in San Blas, and attend the local Sunday market in aticama. Andy, the owner of Casa Simpatico, was a gracious host and Juan Carlos always available to provide assistance."

The house is beautifully positioned with an extremely helpful and friendly caretaker. You can´t beat the feeling of waking up to the view of the Pacific Ocean and palm trees. It is in a very friendly neighbourhood and is good for families. Like many Mexican rental places you cannot go there expecting all modern conviniences, but the place is charming. The owner is also a good person to do business with online, too, in our experience. A lovely stay, much enjoyed.

"The casa simpatico is a wonderful place to have a great time (romantic or not!) big comfortably appointed rooms. Lots of shade! Great views/vistas. Juan Carlos the property manager is very kind, knowagable, and...helpful! The property is a short walk into town (on the beach or the road which has no traffic!) where you can get a good reasonably price meal and any supplies/provisions for the house! I marked the luxury box below. Understand Juan Carlos will not wait on you hand and foot. But. The property is move. In ready and the space, comfort, shade, security and appointments are all luxury/first class." Cheers, Duke

"Dear Andy, we are now back in Guadalajara. We just want to say everything was perfect and thank you a thousand times for this experience! This place is a paradise and we spent a beautiful week there. We saw so many places and the beaches are like a dream. We were very sad, when we had to leave, because the time ran so fast.?But Casa Simpatíco is a very special place and we felt so comfortable.A lot of regards from Ruben, we met him at Trailer Park Restaurant. Where we find you can eat the best fish in the world? And of course last but not least the wonderful Juan Carlos. He engages so much to helping us and showing and bringing us to all the places. It wouldn´t be the same without him.You have really great friends.I hope I can come back another time in my life.Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to have such a lovely and unforgettable vacation. Have a nice weekend. Thanks again and take care. Jonas and Silina"

"We have stayed at Casa Simpatico twice in the last five years. The first time for a month, and recently for a week. It is wonderful. It is not pretentious luxury accommodation cut off from the community, but a pretty, relaxed house set in the most beautiful natural environment, close to a Mexican fishing village. Waking up at Casa Simpatico is amazing. We loved watching the kingfishers and hummingbirds in the morning, swimming in the afternoon, and watching sea turtles feeding in the surf at sunset. Oh and the sunsets are the quintessential west coast palm tree style. I would not recommend Casa Simpatico for people who need a lot of luxury and pampering, but for those who love nature and Mexico, it's a treasure. Colleen (BC)"

"Do you need to get reconnected to yourself? Is our crazy worldcausing you anxiety? Come here. I spent six glorious days in theupstairs screened in veranda at Casa Simpatico. I decided to turn offmy smart phone and just listen to the sounds of the incredible ocean20 steps out my front door. The ocean rocked me to sleep at night andgently woke me at daybreak. The ocean swimming is perfect. The bayis protected with a sandy beach right nearby. After a delicious swim, jump in the spring fed river and rinse off.I had fabulous and plentiful hot water (solar run) and a finekitchenette with cooktop, microwave and fridge. Juan Carlos, thecaretaker, picked me up in Puerto Vallarta for $75 USD where I shoppedfor groceries to settle in for my week of total relaxation. An oysterfisherman by trade, he brought fresh wild caught oysters for lunchunder the almond tree. This is the real Mexico with the fishingvillage of Miramar a ten minute walk away. The property isbeautifully landscaped with charming walkways and mature trees. To beon the ocean in complete privacy is something you will not find often. This was super reasonable. If you need to slow down and live in thepresent, this is your place.Pozole at Lucy's in aticama is a fantastic treat and reasonable at 30pesos. This is Mexico away from the swarms of tourists. No knowingwhat to expect, I felt completely safe walking the villages andshopping and touring in San Blas."

"My husband and I spent a week at Simpático earlier this month. We had a marvelous time at the house. It was spacious and private, with a full kitchen so we didn't have to go out for every meal. We loved the tall coconut palms and gorgeous ocean view, and we spent many sunny hours at the beach a short walk along the coast. It is clear that andy loves this place and puts a lot of thought and effort into the details - both the aesthetic and the functional. The caretaker, Juan Carlos, was a wonderful help to us when we arrived and had difficulty finding the house. He came to where we were and had us follow him. Whenever we had a question about where to eat or where to get our tire fixed (look out for potholes if you decide to go to Mexcaltitan), he had a good answer.I spend a lot of time in Mexico, and have stayed in all manner of hostel, resort, hotel, motel, casa; I found Simpático to be an incredibly good value, with everything I needed to have the vacation I had envisioned.

"San Blas, a sleepy little town that I frequently visited decades ago... and recently I had a chance to go back! At first I was disappointed that I wasn't able to book a place in town, but Casa Simpatico, being a few miles away turned out to be a better choice for several reasons. The location is away from town and also away from the mosquitoes - which is one problem with San Blas, and being on a semi private beach is always awesome! Casa Simpatico a fairly new house (10 yrs?) and is well furnished with everything you will need! I especially loved seeing a French press for my coffee since I forgot mine! The house is on about an acre or so and there are no neighbors within sight - so the lot seems much bigger. If you get tired of the beach there is a lot of green grass shaded by coconut palms in the yard, which as mentioned is steps to the beach. It really doesn't get much better than this! It certainly will not take long before I return again!"

"Andrew was an incredible host, taking care of our needs while giving us plenty of privacy. We became fast friends. We slept on the top floor screened in apartment with the sound of the ocean and surrounded by palm trees and other large tropical plants. The creek was warm and provided a perfect swimming spot for our young boys. We walked the beach 15 minutes to get fresh oysters and fish in the nearby village and to the next town for the grocery store. Our boys played with the other children there, as it was a lively small place with few gringos. We wanted to experience the culture and with Casa simpatico, we could without much tourism, yet with great comfort."

La casa es hermosa, con un jardín grandioso al frente y una playa súper tranquila justo enfrente de El Simpático. Pasé 5 días maravillosos. Es limpia, tranquila y a un excelente precio.
